Marostica
Surrounded by antique walls and two fortresses, a lower one and a higher one, built in the 13th century: this is Marostica, a town with quite some fascination. The traditional "Chess Game" makes the town of Marostica even more famous. This Human Chess Game represents a most spectacular moment and it is played in traditional costumes. It takes place annually, every second Sunday in September, on the main square. |

Birth town of the famous sculptor of the neo-classic epoch, Antonio Canova, where the museum dedicated to him is found, the so-called "Gipsoteca". Some of his main artworks are on exhibition in this museum. |
